Welcome to Comfort Inn SeaWorld Area
The Comfort Inn SeaWorld Area, located at 3880 Greenwood St in San Diego, offers a practical and accessible stay for travelers seeking proximity to iconic attractions like SeaWorld and the vibrant Pechanga Arena. This 3.8-rated hotel stands out as a budget-friendly choice with clean, comfortable rooms that cater well to families and business visitors alike.
Guests consistently praise the hotel’s attentive and friendly staff. Names like Kimberly, Rosa, and Aida emerge in reviews as warm, efficient, and genuinely welcoming, elevating the overall experience. Their dedication to making check-in seamless and providing clear information about amenities—especially breakfast hours—adds a personal touch that many appreciate.
Comfort Inn SeaWorld Area offers free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and both indoor and outdoor parking facilities, including a less crowded garage option. The complimentary breakfast, featuring a variety of hot and cold items, receives positive remarks, often exceeding expectations for a hotel in this category. The presence of a lobby computer and printer proves useful for business travelers or those needing quick access to essential services.
Location is a strong suit here—minutes away from the Marine Corps base and surrounded by fast food options and shopping centers within easy walking distance. This convenience appeals to guests who value straightforward access to both leisure and practical amenities during their stay in San Diego.
However, some drawbacks temper the overall impression. Occasional odor issues, such as mildew or lingering smells in certain rooms, hint at maintenance challenges that could be better managed. Long waits during breakfast rush times and a somewhat noisy air conditioning unit also slightly detract from the otherwise reliable comfort offered.
Despite these minor shortcomings, the Comfort Inn SeaWorld Area remains a solid choice for travelers prioritizing value, location, and genuine service. Its balance of cleanliness, convenience, and caring staff creates an inviting environment that feels like a temporary home base, whether for short stays or extended visits to San Diego’s dynamic scene.

The lady at the front desk (possibly Aida the manager?) was super sweet and made check-in very easy! She let us know the different hours for breakfast during the weekdays & weekend that we were staying to make sure we’d make it. The only downfall was our bathroom reeked of mildew and when we would come back after a long day out, the entire room smelled like mildew! It didn’t bother us when we would be sleeping (leaving bathroom light/fan on) or showering since it would block the smell, but trying to use the toilet we’d have to hold our breaths Checking out was super easy, we wanted to stay in bed an hour longer so dialed the front desk and they said that’s okay, just drop the key cards off when you head out and you are set
Perfect place to stay. Great staff and always willing to help. Complimentary breakfast was better than anticipated. If we are staying in San Diego in the future, we will be booking here. Thank you for making it feel as close to home as possible.
Rosa and all the employees are so helpful, attentive, and kind. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast has a variety of hot and cold items. The computer and printer in the lobby was very useful. Several decent fast food restaurants within walking distance is a bonus! Thank you, Rosa, her team, and Comfort Inn for making our stay here more smoothly literally bringing COMFORT to us after long days of touring a great vacation destination - San Diego! :)
Booked a room at this hotel to attend my brother’s graduation. This hotel is in a great location. Only 10 minutes away from the Marines' base. Kimberly checked us in. She was helping someone when we walked in. The lady did not have a reservation. Kimberly was able to get the lady a room within minutes. Kimberly was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. She even checked us in early after we were on the road for so long. Her customer service skills were excellent!
The rooms were very nice and clean, BUT one of the 3 rooms we got, smelled strongly of marijuana Staff sent a cleaner in to help deodorize it and it helped but still did smell like marijuana. Kimberly was amazing and so incredibly helpful! She was very kind and understanding and did everything she could to help! I only rated a 3 bc of the smell.
Very economical hotel. Rooms are very clean. Good for a small family. Morning breakfast we had to wait for a long time to get a seat and food. They have both indoor and outdoor parking. The AC is bit louder. Located very near to Seaworld. All other attractions are just 10-15 drive.
Great hotel for the price, everyone working was very friendly. Spent 4 nights there. Rooms were clean, had free breakfast, free parking, if parking lot is full, can park vehicle in the garage underneath hotel which has additional roughly 20-40 more parking spaces (personally preferred garage parking as it was less crowded). Breakfast was from 7-9AM. Make sure to get up early for breakfast as it gets super crowded after 8AM. Sometimes takes up to 30 minutes just to get breakfast. Would definitely come back to this hotel due to fair pricing in the area.
5 stars may seem high for a budget hotel, but I often stay in budget hotels and this was top tier in my opinion when compared to other hotels of comparable price. I chose Comfort Inn purely for it's proximity to SOMA. I was driving in from LA for a concert and just needed a place to crash for the night to avoid driving home in the middle of the night. I wanted something cheap and if possible within walking distance. Check and Check. But after staying here I would choose and recommend this hotel for anyone looking for somewhere affordable to stay in San Diego. The rooms are newly updated. The rooms were very clean, no weird stains or cracks or damage. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was to die for 10/10. I'd stay there again just for the shower. If you're not used to traffic noises, I live quite close to a freeway and railroad so I'm used to those kind of noises, you might find the room a little loud but honestly not too bad. I only was aware how close we were to the freeway at one point when something with sirens drove by. Also depending on which way you turn when exiting the hotel getting onto the main road can be a bit of a pain as the exit is literally the freeway exit. But again, not a big deal if you're aware.
